MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Lions Club is seeking nominees for the 2025 Citizen of the Year Award. The award was established in 1981 to honor a person, couple, or individual representing a group, who has selflessly given time, effort, and talent for the benefit of those in the Bluffton area, and whose dedication and achievements have profoundly improved the quality of life of the people in this area.
BLUFFTON__The upset-minded Bluffton High School girls basketball team led at halftime, but fell victim to a big second-half comeback by visiting Northwest Conference leader Columbus Grove and lost 43-34 to on Thursday, February 5.
The Pirates led 18-13 at halftime. But the Bulldogs came back to outscore Bluffton 30-16 after intermission to pull off the nine-point victory on the road. CG limited the Pirates to just five field goals in the second half.

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) 2025 grand prize recipient Jenni Staude is bringing a hands-on creative experience to communities across northwest Ohio with eco-friendly stuffed animals created aboard a brightly colored mobile workshop.
The Ohio Department of Public Safety's Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) will award $4.4 million in funding to help local law enforcement agencies pay for body-worn camera equipment and associated costs. Beginning on February 3, Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputies wil be equipped with body-worn cameras. The Bluffton Police Department will have body camera systems delivered in March. The body cameras won’t go into service until a Village policy has been established.
