BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls tennis team won two home matches on consecutive nights Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21-22.

The victories improved the Pirates' record to 8-5 with two matches remaining before the sectional tournament.

On Monday, Bluffton earned a big 4-1 win over Bath to celebrate Senior Night in style.

Senior Willow Angel won easily at second singles 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Bekah Rehm captured her third singles match 6-3, 6-1.

LIBERTY CENTER__The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost a non-league defensive battle 1-0 to Liberty Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The Pirate boys dropped to 5-4-2 overall with the close defeat.

The host Tigers improved to 6-3-1 after the win.

The match was scoreless at halftime.

NEXT UP
Bluffton (1-0 NWC) hosts Lima Central Catholic (1-7, 0-0 NWC) on Senior Night Monday, Sept. 28 at Steinmetz Field. 

The match will be preceded by a junior varsity contest vs. local rival Ada.

BLUFFTON__ The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 3-0 to visiting Liberty-Benton on Monday, Sept. 21 at Steinmetz Field.

The Pirate girls fell to 4-5 with the home defeat.

Powerhouse L-B improved to 9-1-1 overall with the clean-sheet road win.

Liberty scored in the 26th and 28th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Eagles added a final insurance tally in the 75th minute.

Ally Ferris, Isabelle Miller and Kylie Modded netted the L-B goals.

The Bluffton Exempted Village Schools Board of Education held a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21, with Board President Roni Kaufman conducting the meeting. Business included contracts with seven employees and 26 substitute teachers. A donation of $375 was received from Bluffton Community Assistance Corp. The meeting agenda is here.
