Members of local Girl Scout troop 21165 (who are in grades 8 and 9) are preparing a wayfinding sign that points the way and and the distance to the other 12 Blufftons in North America. The Scouts have visited Bluffton, Indiana—and eaten ice cream there–and learned about the other places named Bluffton in the United States and Canada.

As the seasons change and flu season approaches, healthcare providers and public health experts strongly encourage individuals to get annual flu shots. On September 12, Bluffton High School will observe Military Appreciation Night at the 7:00 p.m. home football game vs. Jefferson. Gates open at 6:00 p.m.

All active-duty members of the U.S. military and all veterans will receive free admission. Before the National Anthem, all current and former service members are invited to join the teams on the sideline to be recognized for their service.

The Village of Bluffton has announced the following public meetings to be held at Bluffton Town Hall.

Board of Zoning & Building Appeals – Variance Hearing on Monday, September 15 at 6:00 p.m.

Personnel Committee on Friday, September 19 at noon.

Council Meeting on Monday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School volleyball team swept visiting Delphos Jefferson in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, September 11.

The Pirate girls dominated the Wildcats 25-6, 25-8, 25-19 to capture their seventh consecutive victory. 

Bluffton improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the NWC after the home win. 

Delphos Jefferson fell to 2-7 overall and 0-1 in NWC play after the defeat. 

Kendall Stackhouse led the hitting attack with 18 kills. Karlie Lora added eight kills.

WAUSEON__The visiting Bluffton High School girls tennis team defeated Wauseon 3-2 in a dual match on Thursday, September 11.

The Pirate girls improved to 4-7 with the dual match victory.  

Bluffton senior Hannah Nieman defeated Wauseon’s Lainey Zeintek handily 6-1, 6-0 at first singles.

Junior Ari Bowling crushed Brizarely Cortez 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.

The Pirate duo of sophomore Peighton Bowers and freshman Leah Hoffman beat Leija and Martin 6-0, 7-6 at second doubles.
