BLUFFTON – The Bluffton High School girls soccer team crushed visiting Lima Central Catholic 7-0 in a Northwest Conference mismatch on Thursday, September 11 at Steinmetz Field.
The Pirate girls improved to 4-5 overall and 3-0 in NWC play with the lopsided home victory.
LCC fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the NWC after the defeat.
Bluffton’s Mya McDougle registered a hat trick with goals in the 11th, 44th and 48th minutes.
KENTON__The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost a very defensive 1-0 battle at undefeated Kenton in a non-league match on Thursday, September 11 at Merold Field.
The Pirates fell to 2-6-2 with the road defeat. The Wildcats improved to 7-0-1 after the win.
Neither team scored in the first half, and the scoring ice was not broken until the 51st minute.
Wildcat Micah Bowman knocked in a header off a Kyle Barrett assist with 29:04 remaining in the second half to provide the game’s lone goal.
HARROD__The Bluffton High School boys golf team lost a Northwest Conference dual match at Colonial Hills Golf Club in Harrod on Wednesday, September 10.
Local rival Allen East defeated Bluffton 159 strokes to 178.
The Pirates fell to 8-8 overall and 4-6 in NWC play after the match.
Both rivals will compete in the NWC tournament on Thursday, Sept. 18 at Colonial Hills. AE is 9-2 (8-2 NWC). Lincolnview is first in the league standings at 10-1 (16-1 overall).

Debra Rose Hohenbrink, 71, passed away September 11, 2025 in Lima, Ohio. Deb was born April 8, 1954 in Lima to the late Lavern and Dolores (Halker) Hermiller who preceded her in death. On April 18, 1975 she married Donald Hohenbrink and he survives.
