Chelsea Zoltowski, a Bluffton University senior chemistry major from Sylvania, spent the past summer in Chicago working in the field of drug discovery.
This was her second such experience. Previously she researched biomimicry during a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) internship at the University of Akron.
For two months, Zoltowski interned at the pharmaceutical company AbbVie doing research on tuberculosis.

Bluffton Family Recreation’s winter programming schedule, announced today, offers classes and exercise opportunities for all ages, according to Amy Byers, sports coordinator.
The winter programming is in the “Winter at BFR” newsletter, attached in a printer-friendly format at the bottom of this story. Winter Session II begins on Jan. 8.
The Bluffton University football team capped off its 2017 season with nine Beavers earning All-Heartland Conference honors following voting by the head coaches.
Bluffton saw three individuals selected to the first team, three to the second team and three were named honorable mention. Consecutive HCAC victories to end the season have the Beavers excited to start preparing for the 2018 campaign
First Mennonite Church invites all to attend an Evening Song and Prayer service in the church fellowship hall on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 8:15 p.m.
Similar to the traditional Evensong services common in Europe, Evening Song and Prayer is a contemplative service of worship at the end of the day, when "we sing our prayers and pray our songs," according to Wanda Stopher, lead pastor at FMC.
"With song and in silence we will intercede for the world, the church, our community, our loved ones and ourselves," said Stopher.
