Leland and Joanne Voth celebrated 65 years of marriage on Sept. 2, 2015.  

Leland grew up in China where his parents were missionaries with the General Conference Mennonite Church and later lived in Newton, Kansas.  Joanne's home town is Bluffton. Joanne left Bluffton College for one year as an exchange student to Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas. She later graduated from Bluffton College. In 1950 they were married in the First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

Eli Okuley, Bluffton sixth grader and member of the Bunny Boosters 4-H Club, won several awards at this year's Allen County Fair.

Tristan Smucker scored his second consecutive hat trick of the season as the Bluffton High School boys' soccer team overpowered Paulding 13-0 on the road on Sept. 1.

Nine Pirates scored in the game.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team welcomed Ohio Wesleyan to the Sommer Center to kick off the 2015 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The home team struggled to get things going in the first set and ended up losing 29-27 in a back-and forth battle.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team kicked off its home opener against the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets on a hot and humid Tuesday, Sept. 1. The Beavers (0-1) fought hard but came up just short with a 2-0 loss against the Yellow Jackets (1-0).
