A planning meeting is set for 9:45 a.m., Saturday, March 21, in the History Room of the Bluffton Public Library (main floor) for persons interested in volunteering for the Ride to Remember bicycling event planned in Bluffton on Saturday, July 11.
The Saturday, July 11, event offers short bike routes for families interested in biking together all the way to a 100-mile route for experienced riders.
The Bluffton Music Boosters present its annual chicken and shrimp barbecue – with all the music you can eat Friday, March 20, in the Bluffton middle school.
Tickets are $7.50 for your choice, a one-half chicken or seven pieces of shrimp with sides. Persons may eat in or carry out. Desserts are available separately. Checks may be made to: Bluffton Music Boosters.
A silent auction organized the Bluffton High School OWE program takes place during the evening. The auction includes over 70 donated items benefiting the Ronald McDonald’ House and the OWE program.
Marlena and Shawn Ballinger took over The Dough Hook in 2013 from her parents when they retired.
"We did it because I wanted the business to stay in the family. I saw the work that mom and dad put into the business and I wanted to take the seed that they planted and make it grow,' said Marlena.
The Ballingers have recently begun taking orders for Fresh Food Boxes, which customers pick up at the store on Tuesdays. They do make up a few extra boxes to sell to walk-in customers. Here, Marlena explains their unique approach to to serving the local community.
