FROM FACEBOOK__The annual Friends of the Bluffton Public Library book sale will be happening Friday-Saturday, September 24-26 in the library's lower level.

All sale proceeds benefit library services, materials, and programs. Your purchase goes to enriching Bluffton and the surrounding communities through activities put on by the local library.

Times are scheduled as follows:

  • Thu., Sep. 24: 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Fri., Sep. 25: 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Sat., Sep. 26: 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

HARROD __The Bluffton High School girls golf team competed in the wet 10-team Div. II sectionals at Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

New Bremen won the girls sectional title with 382 strokes. St. Henry was a distant second at 407. Coldwater ended up third (432), followed by Bath (455), LCC (464) and Bluffton.

The Pirate girls finished sixth with a team total of 480 strokes. They came in ahead of Parkway (484), Marion Local (489), Hardin Northern (524) and last-place Ridgemont (563).

Pirates 3-0 in NWC

The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team rallied to defeat rival Columbus Grove in a five-set Northwest Conference marathon on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The Pirate girls improved to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the NWC with the 25-18, 23-25, 14-25, 25-9, 15-12 victory. Bluffton leads the NWC after the win.

CG dropped to 6-7 and 2-1 in NWC play after the close home defeat.

Lainey Grandey and Taylin Goldman led the Pirates with 11 kills apiece. Goldman also had three blocks.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls tennis team won two home matches on consecutive nights Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21-22.

The victories improved the Pirates' record to 8-5 with two matches remaining before the sectional tournament.

On Monday, Bluffton earned a big 4-1 win over Bath to celebrate Senior Night in style.

Senior Willow Angel won easily at second singles 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Bekah Rehm captured her third singles match 6-3, 6-1.

LIBERTY CENTER__The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost a non-league defensive battle 1-0 to Liberty Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The Pirate boys dropped to 5-4-2 overall with the close defeat.

The host Tigers improved to 6-3-1 after the win.

The match was scoreless at halftime.

NEXT UP
Bluffton (1-0 NWC) hosts Lima Central Catholic (1-7, 0-0 NWC) on Senior Night Monday, Sept. 28 at Steinmetz Field. 

The match will be preceded by a junior varsity contest vs. local rival Ada.
