MEDIA RELEASE__The Village of Bluffton Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main Street, Bluffton, Ohio, to consider the following matters:
1. Chestnut Lane Development – Amendment to Approved Plans
Bob Fett is requesting approval of an alteration to the previously approved plans for the Chestnut Lane development to allow the addition of one condominium unit at the end of the existing cul-de-sac.
BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 5-1 to visiting Western Buckeye League foe St. Marys in a non-league match on Thursday, Oct. 8 at Steinmetz Field.
The Pirate girls fell to 6-8-1 with the defeat.
SM improved to 9-3-2 after the victory.
Sophomore Samantha Rueller tallied the Pirate goal with an assist from junior Willow Derstine.
CAREY__The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team won two close games to start the match, then finished it off by sweeping Carey in a non-league bout Thursday, Oct. 8.
The Pirate girls improved to 14-7 with the hard-fought 25-23, 26-24, 25-17 victory.
Karlie Lora led Bluffton with nine kills and two blocks. Taylin Goldman hammered eight kills.
Camryn Fruchey drilled seven kills and dealt a pair of aces. Adrian Birnesser passed out 18 assists and served two aces. Adelyn Althaus dished out 10 assists.
MEDIA RELEASE— Bluffton University has been recommended for funding through the State Library of Ohio’s LSTA Conservation and Preservation Grant program to support conservation work on “The Trumpet Player,” a sculpture by artist John Peter Klassen.
The $4,999 grant will provide funding for professional conservation of the sculpture, helping preserve the work for future generations of Bluffton students, employees, alumni and visitors.
