MEDIA RELEASE_The First National Bank of Pandora is proud to announce that Lisa Wheeler, VP, HR Director & Training Coordinator, has successfully graduated from the Ohio Bankers League (OBL) Bank Leadership Institute, Class of 2025-26.

MEDIA RELEASE__Isabella Ellerbrock of Bluffton High School and Katelyn Foppe of Kalida High School have each been awarded a $4,000 scholarship from the Lima Memorial Nursing Alumnae Association.

Five outstanding students will be presented with scholarships at the Lima Memorial Auxiliary Summer General Meeting on Wednesday, June 10. 

Each year, the Lima Memorial Auxiliary and LMH School of Nursing Alumnae Association award scholarships to local students who plan to pursue a career in the medical field.

Fleming, 2 relays, Matthews in Friday finals; Rehm gets 9th in PV

COLUMBUS – The Bluffton High School track and field team had several standout athletes compete well on day one of the Div. IV state meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus on Thursday, June 4. 

Pirate sophomore ace Maelee Miller and senior speedster Kain Wright both advanced to two final events Friday with strong showings in preliminary round heats.

MEDIA RELEASE__The Fred Arnold Memorial Charitable Golf Outing, sponsored by Bluffton American Legion Post 382, will take place on Saturday, June 13, with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.

The cost to participate is $80/person or $320/team, including green fees, car, lunch and door prizes.

Last week’s Village Council meeting noted that on Wednesday, the 28th, the weekly mosquito fogging program would start. But did you know that the first line of defense against mosquito-borne diseases isn’t spraying pesticides throughout the community? (Xerces Society: Start Now To Prevent Mosquito-Borne Disease and Keep Our Pollinators Safe). Not only are such aerial spray efforts not the most effective strategies for protecting people; they also put pollinators at risk. In fact, some communities (Sierra Club Municipal Mosquito Fogging is Ineffective and Harmful) have moved away from fogging programs.
