First Tuesday in the Library presentation

MEDIA RELEASE__Micah Dodson ‘27, a social work major at Bluffton University, will present “Unlocking the Truth in Appalachia” during First Tuesday in the Library at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3. 

Through personal experiences and difficult stories, Dodson will explore the realities of life in Appalachia, focusing on systems of exploitation and the challenges faced by individuals and communities in the region. 

MEDIA RELEASE__On January 21, 2026, at approximately 2:47 p.m., the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a commercial semi-truck striking a home in Richland Township in Allen County.

Gerry Bright, age 55, from Frankfort, Indiana, was operating a 2022 Volvo Semi westbound on US 30. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and a fence. The semi then struck a house, causing it to partially collapse, before damaging three parked vehicles.

MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University hosted a “Why College?” forum featuring reflections from a panel of first-generation college graduates who shared candid insights about the challenges, growth and long-term value of earning a bachelor’s degree. 

A March 7 Trivia Night hosted by Southgate Lanes will benefit Bluffton's America 250 projects. Limited to 13 teams, the event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with hosts Brad Fruchey and Kyle Gratz. Teams of six (max) will compete; $300 team entry fee. Sign up at Southgate Lanes, 9700 Dixie Hwy.

Needle Felted Heart Ornament (R)($) - On Mon., Feb. 9 at 6:00 p.m., Shawna Yoder will lead participants in creating their own version of a needle felted heart ornament. Cost is $3 per person. Open to adults, and children ages 10+ with a parent/guardian present. Sharp tools will be used for this craft. Advance registration required and seating is limited.
