Mennonite Memorial Home Service Group's annual silent auction is now accepting bids. The auction items are on display in the MMH lobby at 410 W. Elm St.

Several significant items are in this year's auction. 

On item, in particular, is an oak roll-top desk, which belonged to Paul Reichenbach (55 inches wide by 44 inches) and was used by him at Reichenbach Lumber.

Fred A. Putnam, 79, Pandora, OH and formerly of Chenao & Bloomington, IL passed away at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, at 9:15 pm, September 20, 2015. He was born, July 14, 1936 at Collison, IL, the son of Roy H. & Alta B. Welshire Putnam. He married Betty L. Wade on Sept. 21, 1958 at Clarksville EUB Church, Lexington, IL. She survives in Pandora.

Bluffton dismantled Paulding 34-10 Friday evening to move to 4-0 for the first time since 2005.  The Pirates followed a game plan that has worked this season; stick to the run game in the second half and pull away. 

Bluffton High School's football team is ranked 9th of the top 12 teams in Division VI Region 22 weekly football computer rankings.

The Bluffton community’s 12th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 26, according to Daren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, who coordinates the festival.

FROM THE ADA ICON - Owlsburg - once a school,  a church, a tractor dealership, and most recently a bar - gets a new lease on life as a family restaurant.

New owner David "Rico" Rodriguez plans to open Cherico's Restaurant at the corner of State Route 235 and Old Route 30. Target date for opening is November.

A major renovation is underway on the structure, probably 150 years old, with efforts to save some of the past handiwork such as the yellow pine floor and the stamped tile ceiling made of tin.
