The second mid-week Lenten service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. Vicar Bryant Laude from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Findlay, (grandson of former Trinity Pastor Donald Laude), will preach on “If One Dies, it Produces Life for Many.” 

The choir will sing “Were You There.”  A light supper will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m.  The church is at 301 North Main Street, Jenera, and is handicapped accessible.  All are welcome.

Bill Gordon (center) holds a red wrist band. Bluffton residents will see over 2,500 persons with those wrist bands when the Great Ohio Bike Adventures stops in Bluffton on Sunday, June  21. Gordan is the GOBA director. He met in Bluffton earlier this week to review GOBA with village officials and local coordinators. Bluffton Community Preschool will host an open house from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, in First United Methodist Church, 116 Church St., according to Shelly Matijevich, director. The preschool is housed in the church.

The open house allows parents and caregivers to learn more about the preschool. It also enables them to see what the classrooms are like and other activities and events take place during the school.

Youth of St. Mary’s Catholic Church gave a history lesson to adult members of the congregation on Feb. 9.

“Pioneer to Present, A Journey of Faith,” was presented by youth as an on-going part of the congregation’s 150th anniversary year.

Here's a "one-of-a-kind" Bluffton High School boys' basketball team. It's the 1964-65 season and is the first-ever for the combined school districts of Bluffton and Beaverdam. Interesting to note that there are five Beaverdam players and five Bluffton players. 

Somewhere in the past the identity of a "Bluffton" student and "Beaverdam" student disappeared. But during the first few school years from '64 on, you were identified by one or the other community.
