Teachers can now take Bluffton University’s five online graduate-level courses that lead to an Ohio reading endorsement, offered for the price of four.
Over the next three years, Bluffton is offering the final three-credit-hour course for free to 30 teachers—10 per year—of kindergarten through 12th grade. Funding will be from an Ohio Educator Preparation Program Performance Grant awarded to the university this spring.

This year's VBS's host congregation is St. Mary's Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St. VBS dates are Sunday evening, July 20, through Thursday, July 24. Each evening's sessions are from 6 to 8 p.m.
Youth ages 4 to those who have completed fifth grade are invited to partcipate.
You can talk with your teddy bear on the phone. Maybe you didn't know that. But, just ask Callie Burgess or Jonathan Gage at the Blufton Child Development Center. Last week students at BCDC brought their favorite teddy bear with them for a teddy bear day.

Rachel Shaw, 80, died on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 4:20 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
She was born on November 28, 1933 in Silver Creek, Ohio to Raymond and Zelma (Case) Vermillion and they preceded her in death. On November 15, 1953 she married Robert Shaw and he survives in Ada.
