You never know what bird will show up at your bird feeder. Too many varieties of sparrows to keep track of, cardinals, gold finches, mourning doves, and occasional cat bird...you know the usual visitors. Recently a different type of bird showed up at this feeder.

The only thing that's bird-like about this little guy is, perhaps, jail bird. A chipmonk recently joined the crowd of feathered friends at one of the Icon's Grov Street bird feeders. It appears that he's figured out how to bypass the squirrel-proof feeder.

Several last-minute back-to-school issues will be addressed at Monday's August Bluffton school board meeting. The session is at 7:30 p.m. in the elementary media center.
The meeting's agenda is in an attachment at the bottom of this story.
The board will act on the resignation of Ann Miller as a bus driver. Action will also take place the hiring of Deann Scott as bus driver. The board will also act on Kayla Cooper as head middle school cheerleading advisor.

Janice Mae' Bulkley

Janice Mae' Hilty Bulkley was born on May 16, 1941, to Herbert Herman and Mabel Ruth Hilty, at Bluffton Hospital in Bluffton, Ohio. She spent her young life growing up on the family farm in Pandora, Ohio. She had two sisters, Sarah Helen and Karen, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by: Robert Lee Bulkley, husband of almost 48 years (on Aug. 8). Children, Robert Allen (Carrie) Bulkley, of Castle Rock, Colo., and Kim Yvonne (Harald) Bjerga, daughter, and three grandchildren: Sarah Dawn, Hagan Erling and Elizabeth Anne, of Chewsville, Maryland.

Jo Burkholder

Josephine Miriam "Jo" Burkholder died at 2:40 a.m. Aug. 19, 2012 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Oct. 15, 1932 in Bluffton to Walter and Leona (Burkholder) Augsburger. On Nov. 1, 1952 she married Howard Burkholder and he died Sept. 7, 2007.
She was a homemaker. She attended St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora and was a member of Pandora Missionary Church. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School.
