The Icon continues to evolve. We've said before that there is no manual written on how to create a free small-town online news source like The Icon.

Lots of the things we do are trial and error. Or, trial and success. Many of the ideas we try are viewer generated.

Former Bluffton mayor, Fred Rodabaugh, will offer his observations on Bluffton over the past half century during the 7:30 a.m., Friday morning, Feb.10, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. The event is in the Bluffton town hall.

Rodabaugh is a life-long Bluffton resident. He graduated from Bluffton High School in 1965. He attended Bluffton College and then served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam.

The Icon plans to release a second book in this series of Bluffton stories. The book is in the planning stages and will be released this fall. The second book's theme is Bluffton in the 1950s.
