The Bluffton University women's soccer team hosted Indiana Tech on Saturday, September 17. The teams proved to be even opponents as the match ended in a draw with a score of 1-1 at the end of two extra sessions. The Beavers record goes to 2-1-1, while the Warriors move to 5-2-1.

The Bluffton University men's soccer team played its second MIAA opponent in as many days, falling to Olivet College 7-0 on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. The Beavers dipped to 0-7 on the season while the Comets upped their overall mark to 5-1-1.

The Bluffton University football team hosted Franklin College in their HCAC opener on Saturday, Sept. 17. A 28-7 scoring binge in the second quarter gave the Grizzlies a 42-14 lead at the break.

Ten people picked 8 games correctly and all 10 picked the same 2 tie-breakers. All 10 also picked Bluffton to win.

However Kay Lambert was the only contestant among the 10 to pick St. Marys to win its game. The other nine picked Bath to win, so she was declared the winner.

8 correct - Andy Borgelt, Dan Smith, Dave Moser, Duane Bollenbacher, Jerry Cupples, Kevin Burkholder, Luke Amstutz, Mike Burris, Nancy Armour and Kay Lambert.

The winner of Week 3 of The College Football Contest is David Glick. David received 10 points this week. He also leads in the cumulative contest.

Bluffton University will honor three alumni and a retired faculty member at its annual alumni awards banquet on Homecoming weekend. The Commons, in Marbeck Center, will be the site at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30.

Marietta (Landis) Sawatzky '65 is this year's recipient of the Lifetime Service Award, presented to alumni who have dedicated their lives to heartfelt service to people, community or church.
