Bluffton High School senior standout athlete Alivia Koenig has announced her decision to continue her athletic career at Urbana University. Koenig plans to play both golf and basketball for the Blue Knights.
The next big event on Ada's calendar is the 33rd annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest and Herb Festival in downtown Ada, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.
This year’s festival is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. As in past year’s, it will fill Ada’s Main Street from Highland to College. Main Street will be closed at State Route 235 all the way to State Route 81.
The festival has 180 spaces available for vendors and so far over 130 spaces are signed-up. Crafters are encouraged to register as soon as possible to insure a booth.
America In Bloom (AIB) Garden of The Month recipients for the month of August was presented to Bob and Caryn Clinger, residents of West Elm Street.

The Clingers were presented with a certificate and gift card to Stratton's Greenhouses.
In an era when many people with opposing viewpoints figuratively retreat to opposite corners of a boxing ring when conflicts arise, author and counselor Jonas Beiler urged first-year students at Bluffton University to instead talk, listen to others and share a meal.
“Be brave enough to have tough conversations,” urged Beiler. “God forgives, and since we are made in the likeness of God we need to forgive as well.”
Recent musical performers at the Bluffton Farmers' Market are, from left, Eric Shallenbarger, Bob Beer, Charlie Saylor and Doug Adams. All are regulars at the song circle at the Bluffton Public Library. The group meets second and fourth Mondays at 6 p.m.. All ages and instruments are welcome.
