Where were you Tuesday evening?

Chance are if you live in Bluffton, Beavedam or Pandora, you were at the National Night Out celebration at the Bluffton swimming pool.

Mary Kathryn (Gratz) Carrier, 91, of Sandusky died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 26, 1927, near Rockport, in Allen County and was a 1945 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. Prior to her marriage, Mary was employed as the clerk of Bluffton Schools in Bluffton. After moving to Sandusky and raising a family, she was employed at the former Asher Brothers Auto Parts where she retired in 1990.

Among the most colorful birds to grace Bluffton gardens are goldfinches. Here's one perched atop a climbing vine.

Thurman Wesley Goddard, 84, died Aug. 11, 2018, at his residence in Pandora.  Thurman was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Redhouse, West Virginia, to the late Grant and Selma (Jividen) Goddard.  On Dec. 16, 1966, he married Pamela Brammer Goddard who survives.
