Retired nurse pursues her passion for sewing and other creative endeavors

Nancy Williamson’s two-bedroom villa in the Maple Crest Senior Living Village is bright with quilts, art, fabric, and framed swimming pool designs created by her late husband Ken. The retired nurse finally has the time to pursue her passion for sewing and other creative endeavors.  Still, there’s always something on her “list.”

Elementary, middle school and high school teachers want to meet students

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools announce the new date and times for the Meet-The-Teacher Event on Thursday, Aug. 23, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent. 

• The elementary school will be open from 5-6 p.m.,
• the middle school from 6-7 p.m., and
• the high school from 7-8 p.m. 

"This is an opportunity for parents and students to meet the teachers. In addition, students can familiarize themselves with the buildings and their schedules to be ready for opening day," said Denecker

The United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township holds its reorganizational and planning meeting at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at the of Bluffton Middle School, according to Neil Reichenbach, United Way board treasurer.

"Our current campaign for 2017-2018 ending on Aug. 31, is 92% of our goal," he said. "The United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township has raised $24,426 of the 26,500 goal. Thanks for your support."
