Several Bluffton High School athletes were honored as the Northwest Conference named Spring Scholar Athletes this week. To be eligible, a player must letter in their sport. Gold level is earned by a GPA of 3.5-4.0 and Silver level is 3.00-3.49 during the season.
Bluffton council will hear updates from the village administrator on several projects underway this month during the Monday council session.
According to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, E. Lee Construction will perform exterior masonry maintenance to the town hall. The work includes cleaning the building, tuck-pointing, brick replacement, stone repair, sealants and caulk joint replacement, window cleaning and adding one coat of water repellent to the building.
Officers requested K9 assistance on a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 75 near Bentley Road. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of paraphernalia and marijuana.

University officials reported a criminal trespass to police.

Officers arrested Andrea L. Gossard, 25, Ottawa, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in 500 block of North Main Street for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
An Ottawa resident was issued a citation for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
