The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool will open for the season at noon, Tuesday, May 29, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator. Later today the Icon will post admission prices, this year's staff and pool hours.

You are witnessing a relatively new tradition - this is the third year - at Bluffton High School. On the final day of the school year the graduating seniors take one last trip through the elementary and middle school prior to their own graduation rehearsal.

The eighth grade band members lead this procession. The 137th annual BHS commencement is Saturday.

79 seniors will participate in Saturday's 137th annual commencement

Five members of the  Bluffton High School graduating class of 2018 are named valedictorians and one student is salutatorian, according to Mike Minning, BHS principal.

The students will participate in the 137th annual Bluffton High School commencement at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 26, in the high school gymnasium. This year's class has 79 graduates.

Bluffton fourth graders enjoyed some time at the Buckeye park on Thursday. One of the activities was this intensive game of four-square. The final day of the school year in Friday.

Theme: Exciting world of sports; for ages 5 to 12

Bluffton Family Recreation’s first week of summer camp is Tuesday, May 29 to Friday, June 1.

This week’s theme: Exciting world of sports. Counselors will use a variety of drills and games to help campers experience many types of sports. Campers learn in an environment that emphasizes teamwork, positive attitudes and good sportsmanship.

Season opens June 1 with live band, lots of other activities; can you believe a 1K run?

Southgate Lanes, 9700 Dixie Highway, has big plans this summer as the second season of Summer Fest’s get underway, according to Derek Dukes.

To launch the summer season the bowling alley will reopen on Saturday, June 1. The band “Next to Nothing,” from Lima will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Here’s the schedule beginning the first week of June and continuing until bowling begins in September.
