Bluffton High School's student-planned baccalaureate service will take place outdoors this year.
The service, open to the public, takes place on College Avenue in front of the high school at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 25. The service includes several student speakers and a student praise and worship team.
In the event of rain, the service will move to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Bluffton High School baseball players Dakota Bricker, junior, and Matt Bowden, senior, were named to the all-Northwest Conference second team in baseball this week.
Jake Meyer, a pitcher/infielder from Spencerville was named Player of the Year. Crestview coach Jim Wharton was named Coach of the Year at the all-conference selection meeting Monday evening in Delphos.

On Monday, Bluffton school board accepted the resignation of Tim Closson, elementary principal effective June 30, and his rehire beginning Aug. 1. In August his salary will be reset at $70,000.
Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent, told the Icon that if Closson remains as principal for five years the school system will get one year free plus an average savings of over $14,000 per year.
In addition, two new hires were approved for next school year on Monday.
Cory-Rawson High School won this year's Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 Paint the Plow contest. The announcement was made at the District 1 truck and loader rodeo held in Lima earlier this week.
Paint the Plow is a contest that invites high schools to paint an ODOT plow with a message of school spirit, safety, patriotism or Ohio pride.
There were 12 schools from ODOT District 1’s eight-county region participating this year. Counties are Allen, Hardin, Hancock, Wyandot, Van Wert, Putnam, Paulding and Defiance.
On Monday, Bluffton school board approved the list of 2017 graduates. The list is attached at the bottom of this story.
The last day for seniors is Friday, May 19. Baccalaureate is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, on College Avenue. In the event of rain, it takes place at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Graduation is at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 27, in the BHS gymnasium. Door open at 5:30 p.m.
Asphalt is going down between Kibler and Parkview. The project is a connector of the Bluffton pathway program. Once completed, a bike and pedestrian pathway will lead from the bend in West Kibler, through Parkview Development leading to Main Street at Bentley Road.
