Speaker is director of African and African American Studies, Earldom

Author and professor Dr. James Logan will present “The Art of Hip Hop, Religion and Culture in Civil Society” during Forum at 11 a.m. on April 11 in Yoder Recital Hall. 

This is the 2017 Keeney Peace Lecture at Bluffton University. The event is free and open to the public. 

Logan is a professor of religion and professor and director of African and African American Studies at Earlham (Richmond, Ind.) College. His teaching and research cover many areas including relationships between religion, ethics and politics in civil and public life.

The Boehr Award will go to the best of show

The Bluffton University art department will present the 50th Juried Student Exhibition from April 3-28 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will showcase work created this academic year by students in university art classes or supervised independent studies.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Bluffton, Ohio, postal patrons learned today that they really live in Bluffton, Indiana.

And, this is no April Fool’s joke.

The Bluffton 2017 Community Directory, published and distributed by The Lima News, a subsidiary of Civitas Media, includes a significant earth-moving event.

The 32-page booklet, designed as a Bluffton, Ohio, landline telephone directory includes no Bluffton, Ohio, residential phone numbers, except for the cover, advertisers, and an index of Allen County, Ohio, phone numbers.

Brooklyn Moser, Bluffton fourth grader, concentrates on her water color art work during the March 30 children's art lesson at the Bluffton Public Library. Janette Reineke teaches the class. Students ages 8 to 10 created art in the style of Claude Monet, impressionist.
