Some large families and multiple individuals need assistance

The Bluffton Community Assistance Program is busy at this time of year. Here’s a chat the Icon had with Jami Crawfis, who directs the  program's food pantry.

Jami, are there families in the service area of the food pantry that need assistance at Christmas?

I still have a few large families and multiple individuals to adopt out.

The adopting families will provide fresh, frozen and/or canned food items (or even gift cards to a grocery store) for each family as well as gifts from their wish list.

Mary Ann Augsburger, 69, died Nov. 30, 2016, at her residence in rural Pandora.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

For families and individuals who have lost a loved one

Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services will be holding a Tree of Remembrance Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Bluffton Centre, 601 N. Main St.

The memorial service is for families and individuals who have lost a loved one this year or in years past.  The ornaments will be hung on the Christmas Tree and given to families at the end of the service.

Looks like a reindeer cap. The sack can only mean he's waiting on candy. This little guy was one of four-deep parade watchers at the Blaze of Lights. More photos below. (Jamie Nygaard photo)
