Everyone loves a parade and there's fews as exciting at Bluffton's Blaze parade.

This year's Nov. 26 parade was no exception. Jamie Nygaard captured these parade photos for the Icon. Watch tomorrow's Icon for post-parade photos.

Parade float winners follow:
• First place float: St. Rita's Health Partners
• Second place float: Citizens National Bank
• Third place float: First National Bank

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at First Mennonite Church on  Thursday, Dec. 15 from 1-6 p.m. First Mennonite is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. Enter by the Jackson Street door. The church is handicapped accessible.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s basketball team welcomed the OSU-Lima Barons for their home opener on Monday, Nov. 28. The Beavers jumped out quickly and never slowed down as they marched to a 94-61 victory for a 4-0 start to the season while OSU-Lima dropped to 2-2.

#GivingTuesday participant

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is joining thousands across the world who promote #GivingTuesday on Tuesday Nov. 29., according to Daren Lee.

Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world.

"We invite you to support MHCO this season and make a gift in memory or honor of an elder who has been an influence in your life," said Lee.

Dec. 3-4 and Dec. 10-11 in Mt. Cory

A nativity and angel display held at the Bethel Family Life Center, 201 W. Washington St., Mt. Cory, takes place on two weekends in December.

The displays are Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11.

Saturday viewings are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday viewings are from 1 to 5 p.m. This year's theme is "Heaven Came Down. Several new displays are part of this year's annual display.

Three Wednesday night Advent services will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera. 

The 7 p.m. services will focus on the “Songs of Christmas.”  On Wednesday, Nov. 30, the theme is the Song of Mary.  The Rausch Sisters will sing “Magnify Him,” based on Mary’s response to her cousin Elizabeth in Luke 1:46-55.
