Elizabeth Nisly is the March Bluffton High School student of the month. Elizabeth is the daughter of Lamar and Deborah Nisly of Bluffton. She is a senior and has a 4.000 gpa. She is in Spanish Club and on the Academic Team. 

She was a National Merit Scholar Finalist,  voted "Youth of the Year" by the Exchange Club, and was an Academic All Ohio track athlete.

She is currently a member of the Bluffton track team and ran cross country in the fall. 

Lewis Family McDonald’s is giving people a break on tax day. Participating locations will be offering a special promotion for its guests on Monday, April 18. Customers who buy a Quarter Pounder with Cheese can get the second for just 18 cents.

“Our customers look forward to our tax relief special each year,” said Jerry Lewis, local McDonald’s owner/operator. “This promotion is just one more way to offer great value.”

The promotion is available at McDonald’s in Lima, Bluffton, Delphos, Ada, Van Wert, Beaverdam, Ottawa, Upper Sandusky, Carey, Kenton, and Hicksville.

 

Hilty Home, Pandora, part of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO), and Northwest Physical Therapy (NWPT) announce a community open house Thursday, April 21 from 4-7 p.m. at Hilty Home,  304 Hilty Drive, Pandora.  

Light refreshments will be available and staffs of Northwest Physical Therapy and Hilty Home will be present.

The public is invited for tours and to get answers to questions about the new partnership.

After having numerous weather related cancellations the Bluffton Lady Pirates softball team came out swinging in a come-from-behind victory at home against Minster 6-3.

Jazmynn Wilson started a Dinger Party with a homerun over center field.  Sami Fruchey and Katie Prater joined her with their own homeruns over the center field fence. This was Sami's fourth HR of the season placing her at the top of the record book for single season HR's. She has tied Mackayla Wilson's 2014 record.

Bluffton Child Development Center invites Icon viewers to join in its current fundraising campaign, according to Francine Donathan, director.

She said that fund receives in the campaign will be used to “provide fun educational experiences such as field trips, visitors, gardening and similar projects.”
