Special services for Advent will be held on Wednesdays, November 28, December 5 and 12 at 7:00 pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera.
The theme of the three is "God is Near: and will focus on preparing our hearts for the coming Savior.
Christmas For Kids will be held at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street , Jenera, on Saturday, December 1 from 1:00-4:30 PM .
The program will provide children in pre-school through 4th grade a special opportunity to hear the real message of Christmas, along with Christmas crafts, music, refreshments and fun.
An American Red Cross blood drive is scheduled in Bluffton, Thursday, Dec. 6, from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at First Mennonite Church, located at 101 S. Jackson St.

Thanksgiving to New Year’s is a time for holiday generosity and tax-minimizing thrift. Last year, about 25 percent of the Ohioans who filed federal individual tax returns claimed tax deductions for charitable donations, to the tune of $4.7 billion.
Dr. Rudi Kauffman and Heather Koontz, assistant professors of restorative justice and social work, respectively, at Bluffton University, will present a program at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, on a chapter they co-authored in a new book about restorative justice.
The event is free and open to the public beginning with a 3:45 p.m. reception in the Musselman Library Reading Room on the Bluffton campus.
Khanjan Mehta of Penn State University will discuss social entrepreneurial ventures and how technology has impacted Africa during a Bluffton University Forum on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Mehta’s presentation, “Solar Stews and Digital Funerals: Stories from East Africa,” is free and open to the public beginning at 11 a.m. in Founders Hall.
Mehta is director of the Humanitarian Engineering and Social Entrepreneurship program at Penn State, where he earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
