Bluffton Relay for Life is selling raffle tickets for a 40-inch flat screen television, according to Lynda Best. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5.
Tickets are for sale at Village Cut n Curl, Polish or from Jeanie Ream. Call 419-358-7593 for more info or tickets. The drawing is Friday, Dec. 14.

The Bluffton University women’s basketball team improved to 3-0 for the first time since the 1994-95 season after a convincing 75-53 win over the visiting College of Wooster
Fighting Scots on Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Sommer Center. The win not only pushed the Beavers to 3-0, but in the process Bluffton handed the Fighting Scots (2-1) their first loss of the season.
Bluffton got off to a slow start after two buckets by Wooster’s Maura Hall and a three by Karley Walker gave the visitors a 7-2 lead four minutes into the game.
Gerald E. Kidd, 93 died at his residence at 6:00 AM November 24, 2012.
He was born June 20, 1919 in Allen County to Cloyce and Lola (Cook) Kidd. On February 1, 1943 he married Mary E. Holt and she died January 25, 2005.
Gerald was a lifelong farmer and retired from the Beaverdam Grain Elevator. He was a member of Rockport United Methodist Church. Gerald served in World War II as a Corporal with Company A 504th Military Police serving in Germany, Italy and Africa.
The Bluffton University men’s basketball team was victorious in its first game in the Sommer Center, routing OSU-Lima 89-41 after leading just 43-30 at the break. The Beavers held the Barons to 31.6 percent from the field while shooting 52.1 percent for the game. Bluffton improved to 1-2, while OSU-Lima slipped to 1-8 overall.
The Beavers jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead, forcing the Barons to call their first timeout. The stoppage did not slow the Bluffton offensive attack as the home team opened up a 20-6 lead with 11:20 left in the first half.
