This December, Bluffton Public Library guests will enjoy holiday music performed by local musicians, free refreshments, a visit from Santa Claus, and other special holiday programs.
Holiday music performances include: the Dulcimer Gatherin’ on Monday, Dec. 3, from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m and Jim Boedicker & Ed Zickafoose on Monday, Dec. 10, from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Free refreshments will be provided during these special events, courtesy of the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library.
The stage is set for the 2012 Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Blaze of Lights. This year’s event, the 26th annual Blaze, begins Saturday, Nov. 24, in downtown Bluffton. Here is the up-to-the-minute Blaze information.
Parade marshals – turn on the switch
Three Bluffton residents, each actively involved in several community activities, will be recognized this year.
Local artist Oscar Velasquez is ready for Christmas. His 2012 Bluffton Christmas season is now available at Deer Creek Shoppes. The scene is The True Word Tabernacle and the Bluffton town hall. Prints are available in 16- by-20-inch frames for $75, or 10-by-13 unframed fo $25. Also available are 8-by-10s framed for $25 each.
Ryan M. Sommers, 30, died at 4:17 p.m. Nov. 20, 2012, at University of Toledo Medical Center after an extended illness surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Jan. 3, 1982, in Bluffton to John and Elaine (Andrews) Sommers who survive in Bluffton.
He had been a computer IT Tech at First Solar Corporation, Perrysburg. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton. He was a 2000 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and attended Bowling Green State University.
