Your received obtained a teaching position at Malone College. What was your educational path from Bluffton HS to Malone?

Malone actually changed its name to Malone University a few years ago.

They crashed the party

Hey, do you guys have Sportsmen's Club licenses? A mother duck and her babies crashed the party at Sunday's trout derby. These birds ignored the rules and fished for whatever they could find while the derby took place.

Hey bicycle riders. Interested in a "group ride"? According to Raymond and Liz Harner of CG Pro Bikes, Columbus Grove, two group rides are planned next week.

Here's the plan:

Monday, May 14, at 6 p.m. the group ride departs from the CG Pro Bikes parking lot, and all are welcome. All ages and skill levels. These are 'No Drop' rides, meaning no one gets left behind. The group generally stays in a pack.

And on Thursday, May 17, at 6 p.m. the group ride from the bike shop will be a "ladies only" ride.

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Avengers" (PG-13) will be shown at the theatre from May 11-17.

Show times follow:

2D - Each evening at 7 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30.

3D - Each evening at 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4 PM.

The Hesston College community celebrated the academic accomplishments of 167 graduates during the commencement ceremony May 6. Joe Manickam, a 1987 Hesston College graduate presented the commencement address "Back to Basics," based on the college's 2011-12 theme verse from Micah 6:8.

Graduates of the class of 2012 include Elyse Terry of Bluffton, who earned an associate of arts degree. She is the daughter of Peter and Lucia Terry.

Located 30 miles north of Wichita, Hesston College is the two-year liberal arts college of Mennonite Church USA.

Bluffton University sophomore Matt Weisenborn (Otsego) capped his first season of collegiate tennis by being named honorable mention All-Heartland Conference. The Beavers returned to the hard courts following a two-year hiatus for both the men and women.

Weisenborn opened the season at #3 singles and moved up to #2 before assuming the #1 slot when an injury to A.J. Haley (Wilmington) slowed Bluffton's top singles player.
