The host Bluffton volleyball team swept league foe Delphos Jefferson in the Northwest Conference opener to register their sixth consecutive victory Thursday night, September 16.
The Pirate girls improved to 8-2 (1-0 NWC) with the 25-19, 25-9, 25-19 league win. DJ fell to 2-8 (0-2 NWC) with the loss.
Senior middle hitter Kylie Stackhouse hammered 22 kills and added one block to lead the victors.
Freshman Ayla Grandey knocked down 11 kills and made one block. Versatile senior Kylie Monday drilled 10 kills, came up with 11 digs and served a pair of aces.
Rosenberger Drive, which cuts through the campus of Bluffton University, will be barricaded and closed to traffic ahead of the Oct. 1 groundbreaking for Bluffton’s Austin E. Knowlton Science Center. After the ceremony, barricades will be removed for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend.
On Monday, Oct. 4, the Rosenberger Drive will permanently close to through traffic at College Avenue on Snyder Circle and at the small parking lot to Berky Hall on the opposite side.
This closure will start the process of creating a pedestrian-only central campus which supports student safety.

Another viewer responded with these dates: The original bridge was built c. 1890 by the Canton Bridge Co.; rehabilitated in 1982; and replaced in 2004.
