The Patterson family gathered to present to Village council and Mayor Richard Johnson an 1850s American flag made in Bluffton by Margaret Jane Hammond Patterson, wife of Bluffton's 13th mayor, James Patterson.

The Village of Bluffton council meeting of September 13, 2021 included an historical gift to the village, proposed parking restrictions on a section of Lawn Avenue, sponsor naming rights for village park features, updated preliminary plans for the proposed Chestnut Lane subdivision, town hall clock repairs, and commendations for Office Eric Rayle.

On September 13, organizers for the Bluffton Fall Festival announced that the 2021 event, originally scheduled for September 25, has been canceled.

Dynamic Ag will host a Fall Festival concert at 6705 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton on Friday, September 17.

Live music starts at 6 p.m with Wendy Chappel-Dick and Phil Gratz. At 7 p.m. Shifferly Road Band takes the stage. Bring a chair. Free food and drink includes Slow Smokin' BBQ.

The event is open to the public.

The Bluffton boys golf team finished second in a three-team league tri-match at Hidden Creek Golf Club Tuesday evening, September 14.

Bluffton defeated Leipsic 167-176, but lost to Northwest Conference leader Allen East 160-167. AE defeated the Vikings 160-176 to stay atop the NWC at 13-1.

Pirate Kenny Lovett carded a round of 40 to pace the Bluffton linksters. 

Jacob Boisvert and Wes Brauen each added a score of 42. Jaden Coonfare shot 43 to round out the Pirate scorers. 

The Bluffton University men's golf team traveled to Trine University for the Ken Venturi Invitational on a hot Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. This annual event, which Bluffton's golfers have already marked on their calendar for 2022, consists of players in pairs who are competing in three different partner events. Holes 1-6 were contested as a scramble, 7-12 were best ball, and 13-18 was modified alternate shots with both players driving and then alternating after the best tee shot was used. The format was adopted by long-time Trine men's golf coach Bill SanGiacomo.
