A transformed 246 Cherry St--now the Blended Roots art and craft consignment store--will have a soft open on September 15-17 and grand opening from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 18.

Your appearance on one of Bluffton pathways will be counted Monday through Sunday September 13-19. This is the tenth annual “use count” of the Bluffton pathways, which takes place in May and September

This week’s pathway count includes 29 local volunteers. Pathway users will see those volunteers parked near various intersections in the village in two-hour shifts counting walkers, bikers, joggers who used the pathway.

Two local residents are working with the Bluffton parks and recreation committee to design a disc golf course at the Village Park. Evan Steiner and Grant Mumaugh, friends and disc golf enthusiasts, approached the Village of Bluffton about putting in the course and have since received approval from town council.

Installation of the front nine holes is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2021, with the back nine slated for Spring/Summer 2022. 

The school board meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on September 13 includes action items to approve several contracts including an educational aide, substitute custodian, and substitute teaches, and supplemental contracts for sports.

The board will also consider a resolution to advertise and receive bids for the purchase of a school bus.

The meeting will be held in the Elementary Media Center, 102 S Jackson St.

Dorothy J. Beach, 88 of Jenera passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. She was born on November 11, 1932 to the late Clarence C. and Pearl M. (Rettig) Rausch. Dorothy married Howard J. Beach on May 2, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2018. 

The Bluffton University women's golf team was just five strokes off its school record 346 from Saturday en route to a 5th place finish at the HCAC Preview on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021. The 351 on day two added up to a record-shattering 697 for the 36-hole tournament. The 697 was 16 strokes better than the 713 shot at UNOH in 2019.
