The Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission (LACRPC) has received federal traffic safety funding in the amount of $46,200.00 from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) for Federal Fiscal Year 2023 to fund a Safe Community Grant.
During the federal year October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023, the LACRPC will target reducing the incidence of traffic crashes that all too frequently result in serious injury and even death.
The 36th annual Blaze of Lights, A Candyland Christmas, is scheduled for Saturday, November 26, in downtown Bluffton and vocal groups of 3-8 members are being sought to provide all types of Christmas music before and after the traditional parade. These groups can be acappella or accompanied by acoustic guitar and should be prepared to sing 3-4 songs.
The Bluffton High School volleyball team was swept at defending three-time league champion Lincolnview in a Northwest Conference match Thursday evening, September 29.
The 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 loss dropped the Bluffton record to 10-7 overall and 2-3 in the NWC this season. The Lady Lancers improved to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in NWC action with the win as they stay in contention for a fourth straight league title.
The all-senior Bluffton High School golf team finished 11th in the 14-team Div. II northwest sectional at Moose Landing Golf Club Thursday, September 29, to conclude their season.
Napoleon won the sectional championship over Van Buren (338 strokes each with tiebreaker), followed by Liberty-Benton in third (348).
Bluffton shot 397 to finish ahead of Spencerville, Paulding and Kenton in the tightly-bunched field.
Carson Foltz of VB shot an 18-hole score of 35-37=72 to win the individual crown.
