You remember last year's first-ever Summerfest 1-K, right?

It returns at noon, Saturday, Aug. 10, bigger and better than ever, according to Derek Dukes and Brandon Falk, the creators of the event.

Ethan Smith, son of Joe and Liz Smith of Bluffton, was chosen to represent Allen County at the Ohio State Fair this year with his project: Focus on photography. 

Ethan is a member of the Beaverdam Bunch. This is his first year in 4-H. He will be a 4th grade student at Bluffton this fall.

Only open at home BHS football games; check out the menu

There’s a new eatery in town, and it’s only open during home Bluffton High School football games.

The Bluffton Music Boosters, who operate the concession stand at Harmon Field, unveiled  new choices to its traditional Friday night specials. The grand opening is at the first home football game, Friday, Aug. 30,  vs. Cory-Rawson.

According to Amy Lehman Mikesell, booster president, “The concession stand will feature new items showcasing local vendors. Our goal is to provide affordable meals for families coming to enjoy the football game.”

Jason Granger, Bluffton Junior High football coach, talks in the huddle during the second day of practice and the first day with pads. The junior high opens the season hosting Allen East at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29. It's the first game of an eight-game schedule. Check out the additional photos in this series.
