Bluffton's first post office was started in 1837 with a Daniel Gobel as postmaster. Mr. Gobel received a salary of fifteen dollars a year and mail was distributed at the post office once a month.
Registration for several Bluffton Family Recreation classes are now underway, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
Youth soccer camp
The camp is for U-8 to U-15 boys and girls held from Monday to Thursday, June 17-21. Camp times are 10 a.m. to noon at Steinmetz Field on Harmon Road. Jared Byers, BHS girls’ varsity soccer coach, leads the camp. Cost: $20 members; $40 non-members.
Glow volleyball tournament
The tournament is Saturday, June 1, and is coed 6v6 indoors. Team fee is $75. Cash prizes are awarded.

Greenhorn, a new Bluffton restaurant at 112 Vine St., – formerly Bystillwaters Bistro – plans a pre-opening event Saturday, May 18, with all-you-can-eat sweets and a concert by its very own house band.
