The Bluffton Exempted Village School District is currently accepting applications from students interested in attending the school district through open enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year.
Students from any school district in Ohio may apply and enroll in Bluffton Schools tuition free. Students are admitted on a full-time basis only.
Applications are approved annually on a first-come, first-serve basis and approval is subject to grade level enrollment and educational programs.
The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library has announced its meeting schedule for 2019. Meetings will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Board Room at 145 South Main St., Bluffton. No meetings will take place in July or December.
Board members are Elizabeth Hostetler, president; Bob Beer, vice president; Carrie Phillips, secretary; Amy Lehman Mikesell, Robert Scott, Emily von Stein, and Nancy Yeager.

The Bluffton University men's basketball team went on the road and knocked off arch-rival Defiance College, 85-77, on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Bluffton had three players crack double digits in the win over Defiance. The Beavers improved to 11-3 overall and 5-2 in the Heartland Conference. Defiance slipped to 2-12 overall and 0-7 in the HCAC.
The January presentation of the “Living through Loss” series will be held on Monday, January 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and titled “Understanding Depression through Grief.” This presentation will take place in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital located at 1900 South Main Street in Findlay.
Bluffton Public Library will hold a human trafficking awareness class at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11.
Registration is required for this free educational class featuring Brittany Reyes, LSW, RA, Human Trafficking Survivor Advocate from Crime Victim Services of Lima.
Persons attending will learn what human trafficking is, how it begins, signs to be aware of, and anonymous examples and stories of the survivors Crime Victim Services have helped in our community.
