CONVOY – The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team decisively defeated Crestview 7-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Tuesday, September 8.

Phoebe Edwards-Leeper scored consecutive goals in the first four minutes to spark the Pirates to an early 2-0 lead, and they cruised to victory.

The Pirate girls improved to 3-3 and 2-0 in NWC play with the lopsided road victory.

The Knight girls dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the NWC after the home shutout loss.

KALIDA – The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team tied Kalida 2-2 in a non-league match on Tuesday, September 8.

The Pirates ran their record to 4-2-2 overall after the tie.

The Wildcats are 5-2-1 overall with the result.

The first Bluffton goal was netted by Weston Johnstone on an assist by Carter Steinmetz. Emekkabo Smith then tallied the other Pirate goal via a pass from Xavier Navarro.  

Bluffton keeper Ryan Blount recorded five saves.

As the American farmer continues to age, is the younger generation interested in continuing the tradition? Are the older farmers willing to help the younger generation?

I grew up on a small farm in Northwest Ohio. I knew from the age of five that I wanted to farm. I’ve never been given a farm or a bunch of cash. But my parents have given me all the help in the world. As a result, I have learned the importance of work ethics from a young age.

MEDIA RELEASE__The Village of Bluffton has partnered with CemSites, an online cemetery record and mapping platform that allows the public to search burial records for Maple Grove Cemetery. 

Previously, all our cemetery records, whether for burials or reserved plots, were confirmed and stored on paper in bound volumes. Some of these records even pre-date the incorporation of the village. 

MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Ohio Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 9 at the 1899 Depot (Bluffton Sportsmen's Club). The public is invited to attend the 7:00 p.m. meeting.

Items to be discussed include the Museum Building Campaign, the October 10 Wake the Dead Ride/Dillinger Robbery reenactment, and the September 12 Ohio Open Doors event.

Jerry L. Blosser, 69, of Continental, died at 8:40 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026, at The Meadows of Kalida.  He was born October 5, 1956, in Bluffton to the late Marlin and Mary Lou (Marquart) Blosser.  On July 25, 1992, he married Elaine Keck and she survives in Continental.
