All about vegetable gardening
Transition Bluffton is pleased to present an informative session on vegetable and organic gardening with Amanda Wischmeyer of the Little Riley Creek Farm. Topics will include plant starting, weed control, soil treatment, and organic techniques and will be followed by a question and answer session.
The event is open to the public at no charge and will be held on Tuesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. the third floor meeting room of the Bluffton town hall.
Wischmeyer, along with her husband, Jon Tuttle and family, has a 40 acre organic farm just outside of Bluffton where they grow a wide variety of vegetable crops, raise chickens, and keep bees. They are a regular presence at the Bluffton Farmer’s Market and also operate a CSA (community supported agriculture).
This presentation is one of several events hosted by Transition Bluffton over the past year. The organization’s mission is to bring people together to build resilience and sustainability in Bluffton and beyond. To learn more about future events, visit TransitionBluffton.org.
