Saturday MMH Easter egg hunt moved to university soccer practice field

Due to construction on West Elm Street, the annual Mennonite Memorial Home Easter egg hunt will move to the Bluffton University campus. 

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, starting promptly at 10 a.m.  The location on campus is the practice soccer field, near the tennis courts.  Access is off of Rosenberger Drive. These is no access from West Elm Street.

This year’s Easter egg hunt will feature more than 3,000 eggs filled with candy by Mennonite Memorial Home elders.  Participants can also register for the drawing for four Easter baskets.

The Bluffton High School musical is performed Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the middle school. Click here for more photos and details about the musical.

Visiting Bluffton scored early and often to post a 9-2 softball non-league win over Arcadia Tuesday evening.

Bluffton improved to 8-1 overall with the win, while the Redskins fell to 3-5 with the defeat.    

Pirate hurler Libby Schaadt improved her record to 7-1 with a complete-game, four-hit effort. She struck out 10 Redskins and walked none.

Family-oriented fest' from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Sommer Center

Bluffton University will host the annual Riley Creek Festival from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Sommer Center.

Free and open to the public, the festival will feature block-party-style events including: family-friendly inflatables, games and a Kona Ice truck.

With the theme “Ducks in Space,” the event will conclude with the traditional rubber duck race on Riley Creek starting at 4 p.m. Rubber ducks will be sold for $1 each, with proceeds to benefit the Bluffton Public Library. Duck race winners will receive space-themed gift baskets.

Bluffton council approved the final reading of a resolution establishing 2019 admission charges and wages for the staff of the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. The resolution is attached at the bottom of this story.

Dale G. Fall, 60, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at 5:40 p.m. at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

He was born on April 11, 1958, in Kenton, Ohio, to Nelson and Winifred (Stewart) Fall.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Kenton. On June 24, 2004, Dale married Sharon Hollon and she survives in McGuffey.

Dale was a self-employed truck driver and was owner of Fall & Son Container Service.
