Here are 2019 council committee assignments

Jerry Cupples was re-elected president of Bluffton council for 2019 at the Jan. 14 reorganizational meeting of council.

Mayor Richard Johnson announced that council committees would remain unchanged from 2018. Those committees follow:

In the Bluffton practice of Blanchard Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology

During a noon break between seeing patients, the Icon caught up with Dr. Molly Senokozlieff, M.D., women’s health specialist. Her office is across from Bluffton Hospital in Blanchard Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology (formerly called Bluffton Woman’s Care).

When in Bluffton she may see 20 patients or more during the day, and her patient load had reached a dozen when we arrived. We talked quickly because one of her patients in Bluffton was in labor.

Constance "Connie" Sue Long, 48, died Jan. 23, 2019, at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus. Connie was born July 17, 1970, in Bluffton to Donald and Darlene (Lytle) Burkholder.  On May 6, 2000, she married David Long and he survives.

Connie graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and from the Ohio State Beauty Academy in Lima.  She had previously worked at Blanchard Valley Center in Findlay and volunteered at the Et Cetera in Bluffton.

Connie was a member of the Leipsic Fishing and Hunting Club.

Jonah Agner of The Food Store, frequent presenter at Bluffton Senior Citizens programs, gave a lesson in healthy comfort food on Jan. 23. Part of the "Our Version of Adult Learning" (OVAL), Agner provided how-to instructions and then fed those attending with Jane Agner sausage rolls and vegan chili.
