In Loving Memory of Kay Clauss Gebhardt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Kay Clauss Gebhardt, who departed this world on Tuesday, September 5th at the age of 84. She passed away peacefully at Lake Granbury Hospital Emergency Room, surrounded by her children, Ted and Heidi.
Kay was born on December 17, 1938 in Findlay, Ohio to Lee & Alice (Boyd) Clauss. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grammy, cousin, aunt and friend, and her impact on our lives will be forever cherished.
She dedicated her life to her family, and her nurturing spirit and unwavering love were evident in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her children: Ted Gebhardt, daughter-in-law, Erin Gebhardt; and Heidi Gebhardt; and Grandchildren, Heather Lampe, Blake and Chandler Gebhardt, Tommy Lampe and Carson Gebhardt, all of whom she loved unconditionally.
Kay had a passion for her church family, First Presbyterian Church of Clifton, TX, the Meridian Public Library, her own vast array of books, birdwatching, phone calls with friends (especially Darlene), adventures with her cousins, Lynn and Barb Boyd, and spending time with her family. Her infectious laughter, sharp wit and warm smile brightened the lives of everyone she met.
Throughout her life, Kay was known for her love of books, magazines, art, impeccable taste in fashion with the closet and joy of shopping to prove it! She touched the lives of many through her career as a Registered Nurse, Hospice Nurse, and volunteering for Meals On Wheels, and Friends of the Library in Granbury, TX.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Alice (Boyd) Clauss, her sister SuAnn (Clauss) Lewis She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to inspire and guide us in our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, 211 S. Ave. G, Clifton, TX 76634 (www.fpclifton.com) or the Meridian Public Library, 118 North Main Street, Meridian, TX 76665 in Kay Gebhardt’s memory.
Our beloved Mother, Grammy and Granny Kay may have left this earthly realm, but her memory will forever live on in our hearts. She will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
