Edward Allan Kohli, 90, passed away on December 11, 2025, at Willow Ridge-Frieda House in Bluffton, Ohio. Edward was born in Findlay on January 4, 1935, to Edward and MaRoa Kohli. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1953 and later served in the U.S. Army in Frankfurt, Germany, as a Military Policeman.  Edward loved basketball and baseball and excelled at both. 

On May 12, 1957, he married the love of his life, Janet Bright. They celebrated 63 wonderful years together before Janet’s passing in 2021.

BLUFFTON–The Bluffton High School girls basketball team got off to a big early lead and rolled to a 46-35 victory over visiting Delphos Jefferson in their Northwest Conference opener on Thursday, December 11. 

The Pirate girls raced to a 13-2 lead after the first period, and essentially maintained that 11-point margin to the end.

Bluffton scored 13 points in each of the first three quarters to build a commanding 39-20 advantage heading to the final stanza.

Mayor Richard Johnson conducted the December 8 regular meeting of the Bluffton Council, which included a report from a team of ONU Engineering students and the approval of several ordinances and resolutions by emergency to meet year-end deadlines.

MEDIA RELEASE__Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, will hold its final Advent Service on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7:00  p.m. . The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes of Trinity Lutheran School will present their Christmas service, "To Us A Child Is Born." 

A free supper will be served from 5:30-6:30  p.m. .  All are welcome to attend the supper and the services and the church is handicapped accessible.  

Regular Sunday Services are at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. with Bible Classes for all ages beginning at 9:20 a.m.

Shanks 1st team, Giesige 2nd team

BLUFFTON–Three players from the Bluffton High School football team–Mason Shank, Tayte Giesige and Jackson Bowlus–earned Div. VI All-Ohio honors in recent voting by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association.

Mason Shank, a 6-2, 241-pound junior, was named to the first team as an offensive lineman. His blocking helped pave the way for the explosive Pirate offense to average a league-best 41.1 points per game.
