BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls tennis team lost to visiting Western Buckeye League foe Bath 4-1 on Wednesday, August 13.
The defeat dropped the Bluffton record to 1-2 this season.
The second doubles duo of sophomores Leah Hoffman and Peighton Bowers brought home the lone Pirate win of the night. They improved their season record to 2-1 with an epic 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 17-15 triumph.
AUG 13 MEDIA RELEASE__A new self-care class will be offered at the Bluffton Senior Center beginning on Fridays in September at 12:30 p.m.
Rachel Bidlack will be teaching Fascial Maneuvers, a 1-hour class. This is a self-care movement practice, used to open up the body from mobility issues, arthritis, chronic pain, tension and more.
It can be done seated, standing or even in a wheelchair. The class helps to relieve stress from the body which leads to chronic disease and dysfunction.
Fees: $25 cash payment to instructor at each session.
BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls golf team lost a dual match to visiting Minster on August 13 at the Bluffton Golf Club.
The Wildcats prevailed decisively, 195-243.
Minster’s Eleanor Sommer won match medalist honors by carding a nine-hole score of 45. Teammate Lauren Heitkamp registered a 47, while Stella Mumaw was third with a round of 50. The Wildcats posted the top four finishers.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls tennis team prevailed in its home opener against visiting Defiance and the weather by posting an exciting 3-2 comeback victory on Tuesday, August 12.
The first win of the season upped the Bluffton record to 1-1 this season.
“What a way to open the home season,” said Pirate head coach Trisha Nieman. “Our team came ready to fight, and they brought home the victory in front of the home crowd.”
