The Bluffton University Nutrition Association (BUNA) will host its annual Harvest Dinner benefiting the Bluffton Community Assistance Corporation and the Churches United Pantry (CUP) from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 with meal pickup at the Sommer Center.

Tickets must be purchased in advance starting on Oct. 17 at www.bluffton.edu/harvestdinner. This year, 100 tickets will be sold.

Within the next two weeks, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 is expected to open the first Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) in northwest Ohio on U.S. 30 in Allen County.

When Thayer Road at U.S 30 is reopened to traffic, motorists will find that direct access across U.S. 30 is no longer available. The RCUT will divert the Thayer Road traffic downstream on U.S. 30 where they can make a legal U-turn in a designated lane to access the opposite side of the highway.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Leigh Ann Alspach at St. John’s UCC, 223 W College Ave., at 1:30 p.m.on Sunday, October 24 .

Weather permitting, the service will be followed by a reception on Main St. where a yellow bench has been placed in her memory.

The Bluffton University women's soccer team cashed in only once in a 2-1 loss to Earlham College on Wednesday, Oct. 13. Bluffton fell to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in the Heartland Conference, while an Earlham squad that was 13 strong improved to 2-9 with its first HCAC win of the season.

The Bluffton University men's soccer team notched a second straight shutout in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. Bluffton improved to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Earlham stayed winless at 0-12 and 0-5 in the HCAC.

The Bluffton University volleyball team dropped a four-setter at Anderson University on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. The Beavers fell to 9-14 overall and 1-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson improved to 9-10 and 2-2 in the Heartland Conference.

Bluffton and Anderson traded a pair of 25-19 victories to open the evening before another 25-19 Anderson set put the home team up 2-1. Set four went past the breaking point and the Ravens came away victorious when they scored four of the final five points for the 27-25 clincher.
