Riley Busch smacked a triple, single and drove in a run

FINDLAY - The visiting Bluffton softball team split a non-league twinbill at Liberty-Benton Saturday.

The Lady Pirates ran their record to 2-6 with the split.

In game one, the Pirate girls scored two runs in the top of the seventh to rally for a 4-2 victory.

L-B led 2-0 after four innings. Bluffton tallied single runs in the fifth and sixth frames to tie it up, 2-2.

They then plated two more in their last at bat and held the Eagles scoreless in the home seventh to preserve the comeback win.

Kayla Elisabeth Hall, 27, died on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at her residence in Findlay, Ohio. Kayla was born on May 23, 1993, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Jami Hall and Jason Davis.

She is survived by her mother and step-father who raised her, Jami and Keith Hall of Findlay, and her father, Jason Davis of Lima, as well as her two sons, Keaton Hall and Kasen Hall. Keaton and Kasen’s father, Shaun Ludwig survives in Benton Ridge.

Conforms with state and federal 2020 tax filing deadlines

Village of Bluffton moved its 2020 filing deadline and first quarter estimate filing deadline from April 15 to May 17.

This conforms with the move made by the State of Ohio and federal tax filing deadlines for 2020 taxes.

Dale E. Stever, 82, died at 6:43 a.m., on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. He was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Allentown, Ohio, to the late Harold and Opal (Wheeler) Stever.

He had been married to Marelese K. (Wilsey) Stever and she survives.

Dale is survived by two sons, Scott (Karin) Stever of Ottawa and Greg Stever of Bluffton; four grandchildren, Josie Stever, Beau Stever, Sean (Brook) Stever and Marty Stever; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Gary Stever and his sister, Gloria Jean Stever.

Kathryn “Kate” J. Gundy, 62, died on April 11, 2021, at her residence in Bluffton.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services – Bluffton.

Mason Klingler and Chloe Blackburn say, "Come up the hill"

Bluffton's most popular business not in Bluffton, Kibbee’s Carryout, 140 County Road 313, today became a third-generation business.

Mason Klingler and Chloe Blackburn, took over ownership from Mason’s parents, Anita and Ron Klingler of Ada.

Anita said that her mother Barbara Hopson, owned Kibbee’s for seven years, and she and Ron have owned it for the past 27 years.

Mason is a 2017 Ada High School grad, and Chloe a 2018 Cory-Rawson grad, and currently is a student at the University of Toledo majoring in marketing.
