The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer" Cary Grant movie shown March 7 at library

"The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer," a 1947 movie featuring Cary Grant, will be shown at the Bluffton Public Library at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 7. It is part of a three-part Cary Grant movie series offered this spring at the library.

The movie features Grant, Myrna Loy, Shirey Temple and Rudy Vallee.

The second and third movie dates are April 4 and May 2. Those movies are "My Favorite Wife," and "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House."

Cary Grant to appear at Bluffton Library

Bluffton Public Library will be showing three classic films featuring Cary Grant.   

  • The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer,
  • My Favorite Wife
  • Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.

Films will be offered at 1 p.m. Thursdays on March 7, April 4 and May 2.

All film screenings are free and open to the public.  Bottled water and snacks will be provided. Guests are also welcome to bring a lunch with them. 

No advance ticket or registration is required.

Teen Tech Week at Bluffton Library

Teens in grades 6 –12 are invited to “check in” at the Bluffton Public Library during the week of March 11.   

The library will host two special events during Teen Tech Week.

Teens are invited to drop in and learn more about the library’s digital download collection at 3:15 p.m. on March 12.  More than 125,000 electronic titles are available to borrow free of charge with a valid library card.  Advance registration is preferred.

Digital download classes offered at Bluffton Library

The Bluffton Public Library is offering a class to help patrons learn about its digital download collection.  

An afternoon session will be offered at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 and an evening session will be offered at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19. 

Sessions are open to all ages.  Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bluffton Public Library closed Monday

 

Bluffton Public Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Due dates for library materials will be adjusted accordingly.

Public Library's February book discussion ties in with author's appearance in Findlay

The Bluffton Public Library will hold a book discussion about The Language of Flowers, a novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. The discussion will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the library’s second floor board room. 

The book has been chosen to coordinate with Ms. Diffenbaugh’s upcoming CommunityREAD public appearance in Findlay. She will be speaking at 7 p.m. on March 15th at Winebrenner Auditorium.
