On July 18, Bluffton Public Library will open as the 81st member of the SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) library consortium. The SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Library Center, located in Caldwell, Ohio, supports a consortium of 80 library systems at 176 physical locations throughout 42 counties across Ohio, including the Ada, Findlay-Hancock County Public Library and Forest libraries.
Heard any good Bluffton ghost stories lately? The Bluffton Public Library will host a Bluffton Ghost Walk, Thursday, July 12, at 8 p.m. at the library.
The event is for persons 12 and up (under 18 need a signed permission form).
Participants must pre-register at the library's front desk or the children's desk and arrive in the lbirary basement before the library closes at 8 p.m. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Free computer classes will be offered July 24 through July 28 in a mobile computer lab parked on Main Street in front of the Bluffton Public Library.
Sessions include: Explore the Treasures of SEO, Explore Your Family History (getting started and digging deeper), Explore Office 2010, Mango Foreign Language Database, Explore the New Digital Collection for E-readers and Beginning Computer Q & A.
A special session will be offered to introduce parents to the "buried treasures" of SEO as well.
The Bluffton Public Library Board of Trustees approved bids to move forward with its "Access for All" project at its June 26 meeting. The project includes adding push-button automation to entrances on both levels, a curb cut-out on the lower level and magnetic devices to hold open a set of heavy, fire-rated doors to improve access to the elevator from the lower level.
The final project cost is expected to be between $10,000 and $11,000, and the work is expected to be complete by the end of summer.
The Bluffton Public Library book group will read and discuss "Destiny of the Republic," by Candice Mallard at noon on Wednesday, July 11.
The discussion is open to the public and will be in the Riley Room at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton. Guests are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch.

The team of Bob Hollar, Dan Garlock, George Hakin and Joe Bailey won the second annual Friends of the Bluffton Public Library golf scramble, held June 9, at the Bluffton Golf Club.
Nine teams participated in the second annual "Birdies for Bookworms" golf scramble.
Following the round of golf and several proximity contests on the course, players enjoyed a dinner and the distribution of door prizes.
