Bluffton University named Sean Elvert as its next head men’s soccer coach.
Elvert returns to Bluffton after serving as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Ohio Northern University for the past year. The two years prior, he was the assistant men’s soccer coach at Bluffton and briefly led the team as the interim head coach. In both assistant roles, he gained significant experience in recruiting, day-to-day operations and player training.
It will will enhance the usability of the Nature Preserve for field study in sciences, programming for recreational leadership, and environmental and sustainability education for the public
Bluffton University officials, trustees and alumna Harriett (Burkhart x52) Moyer recently celebrated the construction of the Moyer Nature Center, an 1,800-square-foot building at the Bluffton University Nature Preserve.
Located near the main entrance of the 160-acre nature preserve, the facility features program space for midsize groups supported by municipal water and fully-accessible restroom facilities.

LACROSSE, Wis. - The 2018 Bluffton University track and field season ended on a high note in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 26 at the NCAA National Track & Field Championship meet. Gabe Makin (Elida) capped a stellar freshman campaign with an All-American performance in the men’s pole vault.
During the spring 2018 semester, more than 20 Bluffton University faculty and staff members gathered weekly to discuss the importance of a peaceable vision of education in and beyond Mennonite schools, colleges and universities the book “Education with the Grain of the Universe,” edited by J. Denny Weaver, professor emeritus of religion.
Faculty and staff held weekly conversations with hopes to find new ways to implement peace into education throughout the campus community.
