University biology and pre-med major involved in cancer research at NIH

Dean Walters, a Bluffton University senior biology and pre-medicine major from Avon, Ohio, spent this past summer in Rockville, Md., researching cancer with the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the newest branch of the National Institutes of Health.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Bluffton University women’s basketball squad took to the road to compete in the HCAC Tournament semi-finals against Transylvania University at Rose-Hulman on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018. However, struggles from the field haunted the Beavers for most of the contest as a 57-42 loss ended the 2017-18 campaign.

Will succeed Dr. James Harder on July 1

For just the 10th time in its 119-year history, Bluffton University’s Board of Trustees has named a new president, announcing that Dr. Jane Wood has accepted the call to serve as Bluffton’s next president beginning July 1, 2018.

“Dr. Wood has demonstrated success in achieving enrollment growth at several institutions," said Kent Yoder, chairperson of the Bluffton University Board of Trustees.

University baseball team's annual Vs. Cancer fundraiser next week

The Bluffton University baseball team will once again go bald for a cause during a fundraiser for the non-profit Vs. Cancer.
 
A head-shaving event, featuring several baseball players and their supporters, will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in the Commons at Marbeck Center. This is the seventh year the baseball team has raised money for the charity, and it is the team’s largest community service project.
